In celebration of national “Learn to Fly” month in May, Tennessee Flight Training is hosting an open house on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. Aspiring pilots will have the opportunity to take a tour, meet experienced pilots and instructors, and learn the steps to achieving a rewarding career in aviation.

The flight school is located at Nashville International Airport, 801 Hangar Lane, Hangar #7, on the general aviation side of the airport off Donelson Pike.

“The airline industry is predicted to continue facing a pilot shortage in the coming years, which makes this the perfect time to launch a career in aviation,” said Chris Erlanson, president of Tennessee Flight Training. “It’s easy to get started and train at your own pace. And with financing options available, it allows anyone to make their dreams of being a pilot a reality.”

Tennessee Flight Training offers dynamic instruction that leads student pilots from novice to the highest levels of certification in two to three years, customized to the student’s schedule. This training method provides a valuable alternative for those who prefer not to spend the time and money seeking a college degree, which is not required to become a professional pilot.

As part of national Learn to Fly month, Tennessee Flight Training is offering $20 off Introductory Flight Lessons during the month of May (use coupon code LEARNTOFLY), giving aspiring aviators a chance to take the controls of a real airplane and see Nashville from a whole new perspective. In many cases, an Introductory Flight Lesson is the catalyst for would-be pilots, giving them a glimpse of how exciting a career in aviation can be.

Consistently recognized by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for its high standard of accomplishment, Tennessee Flight Training offers a range of customized options – from recreational to career pilot training – at a pace that fits each student’s needs. Some of the student comments from a recent AOPA survey include:

“Tennessee Flight Training offers a great learning experience in a great environment. The instructors do a very good job at making sure the students succeed in their flight training.”

“As far as I am concerned, it’s the best flight instruction I have received. Good atmosphere and very friendly instructors.”

“All of the staff have been welcoming and friendly every step of the way. From front reception to every instructor and mechanic, aviation is in their blood and they’re happy to share that passion with new pilots.”

“I have flown here for four years now and have numerous opportunities to go elsewhere to train, but I continue to fly here because I love the office staff, the planes, and the instructors. It is such a supreme school and experience.”

“They’re the best in the business, 100% focused on safety and satisfaction of the student. Best CFIs, excellent staff. Easy to work with, very accommodating.”

“Tennessee Flight Training does a great job of making sure students are paired with instructors that are a good fit. They are very personable and professional. But the biggest reason I would recommend them is because they want you to succeed and become a great pilot. I feel like I made the right choice attending Tennessee Flight Training.”

Industry analysts estimate that despite efforts to close the gap in the pilot shortage, airlines in North America are currently facing a shortage of nearly 630,000 pilots over the next 20 years. According to experts, the supply of new pilots will grow, but not enough to offset a continuing wave of retirements.

Tennessee Flight Training is dedicated to providing an affordable path for pilot training by maintaining a tuition partnership with Flight Training Finance. This allows pilots-in-training to receive merit-based financing, which enables borrowers to take up to eight lessons for as little as $400 per month. With wages for commercial pilots continuing to grow, the return on investment for aspiring pilots has an extremely high upside.

“Flying an airplane is an experience unlike any other, and it can lead to a high-paying career with amazing opportunities. If you have always dreamed of becoming a pilot, or you’re thinking about a career change, this is a great time to get started. The skies are calling!” Erlanson said.
